Frequently asked questions

 

  • BRP iBR information
    • The BRP iBR system has its own internal firmware. When an iBR system is brand new, the firmware has to be implemented first. Firmware is copyright protected by the manufacturer, therefore the factory respects this copyright and does not offer a firmware implementation.

    • Only a BRP dealer can legally perform this service.

      After the firmware is implemented, you can use Scan-Sea to synchronize the iBR with the ecm and/or calibrate. You’ll find the button to perform the service in the software option “Settings”.

  • iDS (scanner) not found
    • Commonly, the USB driver is missing. Please download the USB driver and try again. Please make sure, the iDS is connected to your computer and the power light is on. If you do not have power, your unit might have a hardware defect. Please contact us by e-mail!
  • Software does not start
    • If you're using Windows Vista/7 or 8 you need to start the software as administrator. Please click with your right mouse button on the software icon on your screen. Choose "Run as administrator"!
  • iDS does not power up
    • Make sure you have the usb cable connected correctly. If unit still does not power up, your unit might have a hardware defect.
    • Please contact us by e-mail!
  • No communication with ecu (most of the time the result of an unpowered ecm)
    • Some machines need a lanyard attached to power up the ecm
    • If the vehicle/vessel has an ignition key, turn the ignition on
    • Check technical manual for a special power up procedure
    • Check the wiring harness for electrical problems
    • Check our support page (above) for external power information (BRP/Polaris sleds)
    • Some older machines (Kawasaki 2-stork Jetski, Mercury DFI, Volvo EDC1, KAD44/300 Diesel) need external power
    • Check that the computer is not limited in speed, due to:
    • Viruses, Malware, etc.
    • too many open applications
    • lack of frequent computer clean up
    • we recommend the use of a designated computer for the diagnostic!
